Childhood constipation and abdominal pain
Functional constipation is one of the most frequent reasons for pediatric consultations, and often isn’t resolved just with “more fiber”. When it’s chronic, it causes recurrent abdominal pain, lack of appetite, bad mood, systemic poor digestion. And it establishes patterns that perpetuate the problem.
What we work on
Bowel habits (schedule, posture, time). Age-appropriate diet with sufficient fiber (varied — not just “fruits and vegetables”). Gut microbiota (specific probiotics with criteria). Proper hydration. Movement. And, when there are aversions or fear of the toilet, a psychopedagogical approach without pressure.
