Irritable Bowel Syndrome · PNI Seville

IBS is not “just stress.” There are specific biological mechanisms that can be addressed.

What is Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

IBS is a very common functional disorder characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, and altered bowel habits (predominantly diarrhea, constipation, or mixed). Imaging tests and lab results come back “normal,” which does not mean there isn’t a real alteration — there is, in the regulation of the gut-brain axis and in the microbiota.

Why PNI Helps with IBS

IBS is multifactorial: latent SIBO, visceral hypersensitivity, vagal nerve dysautonomia, specific food intolerances, chronic stress. In consultation, we identify which factors are most significant in YOUR case and address them in order.

How We Address IBS

We rule out SIBO if appropriate. Adapted nutritional plan (transient low-FODMAP in some cases, always with progressive reintroduction). Work on vagal regulation and the autonomic nervous system. Education on individual triggers. Goal: to live without thinking about your gut.
