Picky Eaters, Refusal to Eat, Aversions: Nutritional Education Without Battles.

When Eating Becomes a Daily Battle

He/She only eats pasta and breaded foods“. “He/She rejects everything green”. “He/She cries if I put anything new on the plate”. Food selectivity is very common, and it’s not resolved by forcing — on the contrary, it usually gets worse.

How We Approach It

Age-adapted nutritional education. Strategies for progressive exposure without pressure (it takes time, but it works). Attention to possible deficiencies (iron, zinc, B12, vitamin D) when variety has been scarce. Work with parents to avoid “reward/punishment” dynamics at the table. When there are sensory traits or intense aversions, we refer to occupational therapy.
